I have a DVD rip of the LD, its not bad. Downloading the sample to compare.

How complete is your LD version? Any that I have seen are missing
six songs that are on the VH1 version:

Call Me Back Again
Lady Madonna
The Long And Winding Road
Picasso's Last Words
Richard Cory
Blackbird

The one that was shown on VH1 was the theatrical release of the film - the video/laser was cut. Lady Madonna appears on the new McCartney Years dvd - 1st time as an official release.

Ironic, isn't it. A sad footnote to a talented musician's career.

On another note, since this is a Zep website after all, McCulloch has a roundabout connection to Led Zeppelin. Anyone know it (without resorting to search engines, of course)?

Wasn't he asked to play bass before JPJ?

I don't know his connection, but Paul McCartney attended the Earl's Court shows (Robert makes a comment on the 23rd) and was so impressed with the production that he hired Ian Knight to design the stageshow on the Wings 1976 tour.

I can't stop watching this. They are so fucking tight, I love the wah solo. The sound is amazing too, sound very fine. I think it is funny how they have two keyboard players, i wonder how good Linda really was. I would hope this would see the light of day, i know you couldn't let out all of it though, or could you?

It's a damn shame the entire Rockshow wasn't released on DVD. They really should consider a Wings Over America boxset with the CD and the video. How's the sound on the songs from the official DVD that just came out? Remixed? 5.1? Eh, maybe I just need to pick it up...

The only post-Beatles McCartney I've heard were the hits, and the Band On The Run album.
It looks like I've missed out on a lot.
One of the things I love about coming here is being turned on to "new" music, no matter how old it is. Thanks. :)

I would also suggest the Back to The Egg era (the album, the film and the Wings LAst Flight bootleg), it is also very interesting.

Thanks. I made a note of it. :)

Everything up through At The Speed of Sound is strong, IMHO ... and even that record's pretty good. Beyond that, Back to the Egg is almost universally held in high regard.

There are a lot of great Macca tracks over the next 20 years, but you've got to put some time into finding the.

Agreed, even those albums has lost gems which are generally not considered to be 'top notch'.

I finished this production this morning. The tape is not in the best of condition and, even with the best I can do, I am not sure if I am pleased enough with the final result to distribute it.

I thought the "Medicine Jar" clip was great! I REALLY hope you decide to distribute it.

I thought the medicine jar clip was good enough to be enjoyed !

It would be nice to have this aside the official DVD (the 3DVD out last november that is).

The sound on the new DVD is excellent - if you like McCartney I wouldn't hesitate to buy it
