A sample from what may be my next project, the Wings release "Rockshow." Funny how one of my favorite Wings songs was not written by McCartney. This is a raw, unrefined transfer, but would like to know how it compares to what is currently in circulation. As far as I can tell, the full show has never been officially released on DVD.

Full DVD quality. Right-click and Save As.

Very nice, if this is a raw transfer, I think the finished product
would be outstanding. I haven't heard Wings in years, I used to have
Ram on vinyl. Thanks JP

Great! I'd love to see this one! Paul should really release this one.

This is alot nicer than any version I've seen.
I would love to get the full show in this quality.

The only official release of this show is 7 songs on
the new The McCartney Years 3 DVD set. I haven't
seen it yet since I just can't justify buying 2 discs
of music videos I'll never watch to get 1 disc of
concert material.

Wow, this would be fantastic... I've only ever seen an old mpeg version I got off of winmx back in the day..

So, to answer the question. That is much nicer...

I was not aware of that release. Anyone have that and can compare?

From what I have read in another forum, the video
and audio quality are excellent. The biggest complaint
is that the video has been cropped on the top and bottom
to make it 16:9

I have it. The audio is awesome, but it's not the whole set:

What you see above is it.

Just finished downloading Medicine Jar ... I'll compare.

Medicine Jar was obviously lit different in concert, so we're not really comparing apples to apples.

(Also, it looks like my screen captures got scrunched by Power DVD or Photobucket.)

Audio-wise, we get back to the Compression Debates of recent years. The McCartney Years is (surprise) more compressed. It's louder and still sounds great, but there's more space in Medicine Jar. I like both ...they're just different.

Also, Medicine Jar's audio seems more honest and authentic - haven't watched enoug of TMY to figure out to what extent the audio has been sweetened or fixed.

Wow, that looks fantastic. I can assure you even with my finest skills my print would never turn out like that in the end. I will need to contemplate this one.

If you happen to remember, where did that closeup of Paul occur? I could try to grab a direct comparison shot.

I liked your version, Presence. It looked a lot better then my DVD which sourced from a factory sealed and recently opened VHS.

Unfortunately only some songs were released officialy on the new DVD set. I have not seen it yet, hoping to watch it on Christmas Day

I think Sir Paul might have the best source material around here.... Have you heard the stolen "Rockshow" tape? It was torrented on TTD- it is from 1976, unedited, very intersting. I can burn you a copy.

P.S: sorry to bring this up here, but any chance for a white suit '66 Beatles Japan concert? You wrote at the end of August that it is nearly finsihed. No intention to rush you or anything as you are doing it for free and for us, just asking.

Never mind, I see the shots are from "Rock Show" now that I am mastering in the full tape. 8)

Since I got burned on the other show - apparently some people thought I was kidding when I say "you download, you review" - I have no intention of releasing it at this time. Sorry to be an ass, but one good turn deserves another.

Hmm. How much time do I want to sink into this? The 16:9 crop of the official release is pretty obvious, though.

Ah, this brings back memories. I found a copy of the Rockshow VHS from Blockbuster video in the early 90's. Does anyone here have the Misterclaudel dvd which has the complete show?

I know it's a drag, there will always be wankers. But, why not name names? If they have the brass neck to still be around, they can be cut off from vines etc from here, preserving the integrity of R-O. Personally, I didn't d/l but i'd hate to suffer because of the actions of a few.. Just a thought :D

The only post-Beatles McCartney I've heard were the hits, and the Band On The Run album.
It looks like I've missed out on a lot.
One of the things I love about coming here is being turned on to "new" music, no matter how old it is. Thanks. :)

Okay, I undertstand your point, you are right. If someone downloaded the show without reviewing it -why to offer another one? Altough many of us gave reviews, I am sure that plenty of users only downloaded it. But I also agre with Killingfloor as well, why should eveyrbody suffer because of a few?
Anyway, back to Rockshow.

I would also suggest the Back to The Egg era (the album, the film and the Wings LAst Flight bootleg), it is also very interesting. Unfortunately none of the songs made its way to the new McCartney DVDs, the McCartney Years.
Personally, I do not understand why he did not release tze full Rockshow.

I have the new McCa DVD, and to be honest, the quality for the Rockshow exerpt is perfect... if it was not for the picture ratio.

Now having a full version of the show... that'd be awesome.

I might be wrong, but I think the full show was released in Japan under MPL licence in 2003, I highly doubt it's legit though.

I have this version, which is of lesser quality than your sample (both picture and audio) :

Code:
Wings Over America
Thu, Jun 10, 1976
Seattle, WA USA

Venus And Mars
Rock Show
Jet
Let Me Roll It
Spirits Of Ancient Egypt
Medicine Jar
Maybe I'm Amazed
Call Me Back Again
Lady Madonna
The Long And Winding Road
Live And Let Die
Acoustic Set:
Picasso's Last Words
Richard Corey
Bluebird
I've Just Seen A Face
Blackbird
Yesterday
You Gave Me The Answer
Magneto And Titanium Man
Go Now
My Love
Listen To What The Man Said
Let 'Em In
Time To Hide
Silly Love Songs
Letting Go
Band On The Run
Hi Hi Hi
Soily

VH1 Broadcast > VHS HiFi > Pioneer DVR-531H
Recorded by Neal
Transfer & Tracking by Taper Jeff

How complete is your LD version? Any that I have seen are missing
six songs that are on the VH1 version:

Call Me Back Again
Lady Madonna
The Long And Winding Road
Picasso's Last Words
Richard Cory
Blackbird
