I am off to Denver to catch the mighty MEGADETH in action on the opening night of their tour!

Much ass will be kicked. Enjoy "Hanger 18" from just over two years ago, see you all when I get back tomorrow. I would not recommend pulling any stunts, either, as zosozep has full authority.

Bestow upon me knowledge, wizard all knowing all wise,
I want to rule this kingdom, make sweet the breeze that was defiled...

I have returned, but damn tired. Voice is shot and I think I have pneumonia, which is a bad thing, trust me. The show was great, but pretty much the same setlist as the last two times I saw them. They will likely switch things up as the tour goes on.

Whoever was running the sound needs to be strung up on the gallows. What a godawful job. If you thought feedback at the O2 was bad, you have no idea how good Zeppelin had it. Plus I just read a review on the Megadeth forums from a guy who was standing about six feet from the soundboard and saw how shitty the soundman actually was -- more interested in chain smoking than running the knobs.

More when I recuperate if anyone is interested.

what a shame, the Fillmore is pretty good venue, and for its size, it can have really good sound, at least the couple of shows I've seen there, but of course it depends on who is in charge. :x

At least the show itself was good though..........get feeling better :)

I was meaning to ask you Jason, did they hand out posters after the show at the Fillmore in Denver? Here in SF at the fillmore they usually hand out posters and I was wondering if Denver did the same. I went to the Cypress Hill show for 4-20 a couple of days ago and it was a huge smoke out. They handed out posters after the show and I got one..here's what it looks like...

I saw Megadeth twice...
the first time at Monsters Of Rock back in 1992 with the classic line-up (Mustaine - Friedman - Ellefson - Menza): they just released Countdown To Extinction and they kicked serious ass!!!
and last year at Gods Of Metal with the new guys: I missed part of their show since I wasn't expecting a great performance, but they proved me wrong... it was good to see them still in good shape after 15 years!

I do not remember any posters being passed out, but I was not looking for them, either. Did you have to know about them beforehand?

In Flames was decent, but I am not familiar with their material.

Not sure about Denver, but here in SF you have to kind of know when to leave and what to look for if they are handing them out. When you get to the top of the stairs and go left, right there in the corner by where they sell the merchandise, usually there is a table set up there and if you see that table, then you know they are handing out posters after the show and they even have one on display there for you to see. The key to getting one is to know to start heading toward the exit during the last part of the encores. When the band stops playing, then everyone starts leaving and they dont start handing them out to the first people out the door. Wait a few minutes until the first groups of people leave, then right at the exit, hang back on the stairs until you see them bring the posters out. Then you can leave with poster in hand...dont leave too late because they do run out! :o
